How to Set a Daily Charging Reminder on Android
The worst time to discover the phone is at 8 percent is 7 a.m. with a train to catch. A reminder at bedtime fixes it, as long as it is smart enough to stay quiet when the phone is already charged.
The clock-app approach
You can set a 10 p.m. alarm labelled "charge phone" in the Clock app. It works, but it rings every night whether the battery is at 9 percent or 90, so after a week you start ignoring it, which is the problem you were trying to solve.
A reminder that checks the battery first
Battery Call has scheduled charge reminders: pick a time, such as your bedtime, and a battery level. At that time the app checks the battery; if it is below the level and the phone is not charging, it rings with a full-screen call. If you already plugged in, nothing happens.
- Open Battery Call and add a scheduled reminder.
- Set the time (for example 22:30) and the level that counts as "needs charging" (for example 50 percent).
- Choose the days it should run.
- Allow exact alarms when the app asks; that is what lets it fire at the exact minute.
Combine it with the other alerts
- Add a full charge or 80 percent call for the morning, so the phone is not sitting at 100 percent for hours.
- Keep a low battery call for daytime.
- Use the unplug alarm when charging away from home.
Reliability checklist
Reminders depend on Android letting the app wake up: grant the alarms and reminders permission, exclude the app from battery optimisation, and allow autostart on brands that have it. Everything runs on the phone; the app never needs an account or an internet connection to ring.
Frequently asked questions
Will it ring if the phone is already charging?
No. The reminder only rings when the battery is below your level and the phone is not plugged in.
Can I set different times for weekdays and weekends?
Yes. Create separate reminders with their own days and times.
Does it need internet?
No. Scheduling and alerts run entirely on the device.
